My p7230 arrived today. The manual says that there should be a second memory slot under the keyboard (page 43). I have received already the second 1GB memory module, but the slot on the rear side is already occupied with 1GB!
So I lifted the keyboard up, but there is no memory slot.
There is nothing! Do I have the wrong p7230 User`s Guide?

The supplied P-7320 manual is incorrect. There is only one available DIMM slot. The online tech specification pages, however, should be correct (listing only one available slot), but there's nothing you can do about that, I'm afraid. Hopefully you can return the extra 1GB DIMM and either get a refund or replacement for 2GB.

This should also be stickied. Fujitsu isn't going to replace their print manuals because those are mass printed. They should fix the online PDF version, though.

There is a single SO-DIMM slot in the P7230, accessible through the door on the bottom.
The US user's manual is wrong, it describes the P7120 (though the specs page is correct).
I'm not sure which manual you've referenced, however. In any case, you have the wrong
memory, you'll need a 2GB DDR2 SO-DIMM, to replace your existing 1GB.

Thanks for the moment.
Ordered it from Superwarehouse.
They sell it with a option for a extension option 1GB memory module.
So I have ordered there the extra module.

There are so much different descriptions of several configurations of the p7230 in the internet. I was worried, could not get right in contact with Superwarehouse.
Let`s see what they gonna tell.

Hi! I have just received my P7230 today, and met the same trouble with you! I would like to now how did you lift the keyboard up, I meaned the way to disassembly. I want to check the under keyboard memory slot again.
By the way, did you get the response about that from Superwarehouse? What did they tell?
Thank you!

The keyboard is fixed by several thinn double sided sticky tapes to the base. A small black plastic stripe, just about 4mm thick is direct above the keyboard, by 4-5 little plastic hooks attached to the holes down to the space for the battery.
Take the batterie out, check by good illumination if you can see the black plastic hooks, how they are fixed. Turn the laptop over again, lift on the rigth side of that black plastic stipe, pull it straight to the rigth side, so the plastic hooks down below will loose arretation. After taken that plastic stripe out, you should be able to lift carefully the keyboard up. The sticky-tape stripes are really sticky!
The new swiss-german keyboard I fixed only with two of these double sided sticky-tape stripes.
It would be nice to have a spare plastic-stripe, I broke one of the hooks.

Superhouse, Petra told me that she has fowarded my complainment to the management. That management, I think, is for a longer time in holiday = no reply! Gangsters!

ArminG, you wouldn't have taken a photo of what's under the keyboard, would you?
Is the wireless card accessible this way? Any other hardware?

No, I have not taken any pictures, my digital camera is defective.
Well, I have seen the WLAN Card already. But do not remember exactly where. There are some pictures in this forum, have you checked them all?

Thank you for your reply. After checking it again I contacted Fujitsu Support and they said me that the P7230 have only 1 memory slot, so If you want your device operate at Dual channel memory mode you have to send it to Fujitsu, and they will install 1 onboard memory module for you!!! I don't understand them for doing that.
And one more thing that the SD card reader slot on the P7230 cannot support Vista Readyboost until Ricoh can give you a drivers upgrading. Unfortunately in the future only.

I don't buy that there's a second memory slot, but anything's possible. It might
almost be worth paying for them to try, just to confirm!

Don't even think of running ReadyBoost off the SD slot. The system's disk and memory are
much faster than SD or even USB, so all you will accomplish with ReadyBoost will be to
slow down your system.
